the second phase

So my little sister finally did it.  After all my advice and begging for her to never do it, to shun this decision forever and instead live a happy life, she actually went and did it.

She got married.

And I must say, I’m happy for her and Ben.  They make an awesome couple and I know she’s horribly happy.  Good thing I didn’t charge for any of my advice sessions with her. 

There are quite a few pictures up in here of the wedding and my adventures in ice fishing ( at which point the camera died, so they are thankfully short and sweet ).  Also, you’ll notice the gallery has changed.  Sorry about that, in doing the upgrade of the gallery software, I found out that it doesn’t work with Wordpress.

Oops.

Anyways, congratulations Erin and Ben.

Ok, so a little time has passed, but it’s been really busy in that short period.

First off, just to clear up the confusion with my family. Saleigh is Marielle Saleigh. ( Think ‘Mary-EL’, ‘Suh-lay’ ). She’s a beautiful, talented woman that I’m dating. You can find some pics of her in the new album that I’m going to link in a second.

Went to Disneyland on Friday ( cuz I’m cool and had it off ). Had an awesome time, though ( I had awesome company, which helped. ). It’s been about 10 years since I last visited, so it was really a trip to see all the new things ( Downtown Disney, California Adventure, etc ). It definetly was strange to compare the new redone rides to my memories.

Unfortunately, we didn’t bring the camera, because we figured it’d get wet during a water ride and we didn’t have anything to store it in. Hell, we had to give our cellphones to a couple so they could put them in their backpack.

I learned a very important lesson there. Turkey legs are sticky, but damn they’re good. Also, get the bread pudding. It’s like a little slice o’ Mm-mm-good.

Went and saw the Nightmare Before Christmas in groovy 3D last night. Besides the fact that the 3D glasses made my contacts hurt, which caused me to sniffle, which made it seem like I was crying ( Hey, it’s an emotional movie.. poor Oogie Boogie ) it was pretty good. The El Capitan was also really sweet, for about the 5 seconds I saw of it while we rushed to the movie. Maybe next time.

ESPP comes in this week ( hopefully ), so I’ll be able to rebuy my camera and start shooting again and finally update the galleries, which are sadly lacking. That and some other miscellaneous purchases ( like.. this ). I wish. Definetly getting a new vacuum to clean up after the pups tho. I love them, but damn, they are hairy.

Time to stop slacking and get back to work.

Just a quick update. We’re moved in, my toe has healed ( for the most part ), Saleigh is awesome and the beach is freak’n cold.

It’s hard. Really friggn’ hard. I went on Saturday with Brett, Adam and Garrett. It was quite fun to watch Garret knock the living snot out of the ball and then go up after him. Talk about pressure!

I didn’t do to well, obviously. My first time on a real golf course and even with our lenient scoring techniques ( ie.. hit 1.. hit 2.. uh, i’ll drop over there, thanks ), I still got a 124. Oh well, practice makes perfect, no? I’m going to try and hit up the range some more this week and maybe see about some lessons.

Also, have to thank Brett and Adam for generously supplying me with clubs and a bag so I can get started playing.

So The Evil Tora has given me ‘The Mac Challenge’.  That’s what I call it anyways.  The idea is that I go and buy a Mac, support the DarkSide by doing so and record my findings.  I have to use the Mac alongside my PC, switching back and forth for various applications and after a period of 6 months, figure out which one I like better.

 One major snafu tho.  I don’t own a Mac. 

 That’s where you, the readers, come in.  I’ve got to figure out some way that doesn’t involve pornography, selling my body, a second job or participating in medical surveys so that I can earn the $2,200 I need to buy the Mac.  So if you’d like to donate or have some other hair brained idea for me to make money, please, I’m all ears.

 And if you can’t, well, just click on some of the Google ads I have up and make me some money that way.

Happy New Years! Hope everyone had a great year and is making up their resolutions so that they can break them!

As for me, I’m trying to save more money and pay off my credit cards. We’ll see how that goes. I don’t have anything really to report in the life of Steve. I’m going to be putting up the status project that I’ve been working on so you can see my leet code-foo. Then you can see how much better dragon style is than tiger style.

Going to go get ready for tonight! Need to get some appetizers and stuff. Stay safe everyone.
