Always working towards something

With the recent update of my goal list and things I’d like to accomplish before I’m 40, I realized something.

I have a lot of shit to do.

Taking that into consideration, I’ve decided to try and stop working so much from home ( after I get home from work ) – unless it’s something that is helping me towards one of my goals ( ie – python or ruby ). I also need to start splitting my time up more and stop getting so involved in one thing at time. For instance, instead of spending all day catching up on my TV shows – spend 1 hour and watch one show, then switch to something else for an hour, etc. At least this way I’ll be working on a variety of my goals and not feel like I just wasted a whole day with one.

It also helps with things like studying for my CCNA – as I can only really take about an hour of reading that book until smoke starts coming out of my ears or drifting off to sleep.

The only downside is how tired I’ve been when I do get home – after work and a workout, I’m exhausted and have to come home to two large dogs who are really happy that I’m home. It’s hard to do anything when the couch looks so inviting.

I should probably come up with something for organizing myself a bit better in order to become a little more efficient in what I’m trying to accomplish – but that’d require me to not be lazier than I already am.
