upgraded the site to the latest wordpress, let me know if you see any issues.
One other thing that I’d like to mention is that I’ve been helping out on an open-source project called ClockingIT. It’s written in Ruby on the Rails framework, which until now, I didn’t really know anything about. It’s been alot of fun, however, and the lead guy on the project is an awesome fellah. Hopefully some of my patches make it into future revisions!
With all the recent running, my shins have been KILLING me. I mean seriously, they contacted an arms dealer and got a pair of giant machetes that they feel they need to stab me with everytime I run. Another name for this would be called shin splints. Now, my shoes weren’t the most comfortable and really didn’t have much in terms of support or padding but when I got them, they were really the only Nike+ shoes out at the time.
So I went to a local running specialist store and had them check out my feet. Besides smelling of roses, I’ve found that I have a normal arch and don’t overpronate much at all, so I don’t need stability shoes. After trying about 5 pairs, the salesperson recommended one of the pairs. It was, surprisingly, not the most expensive pair either. She explained what she liked about each pair on me and why she liked these the best. Overall, it was a really good thing to do and she was very helpful. So now I’m the proud owner of a pair of Etonic Prayas. The one downside to these was that they aren’t Nike+ compatible. Do not fear, however, because you can always buy something like this!
Now that I’ve got the Tiger on the bandwagon, I best be running!
That’s what I’ll be having for dinner if the Tiger doesn’t shape up, hurry up and get his nano with his Nike+ kit. I’ve already got a headstart on him! Maybe posting the challenge here so all the world can see his failure will make him hurry up…
.. for letting myself get as fat as I am now. 208 pounds people. 208!! I’ve never been over 200 a day in my life and now I’m 208 pounds! This is what relationship comfort will do to you.
So I started up the running again. And the diet. And we’re going to add another thing into the mix - P90X. It’s an extreme workout that a few of my friends have just started. There is no way this temple of a body is going to be over 200 pounds. So beginning today, I will weigh myself every morning and update the blog with my new weight. I’m actually starting the P90X program next Monday, but in the mean time, I’ve setup a Goals page that I was able to link my Nike+ information in. My real goal is to reach the 100 mile milestone! I’ll update the weight on that page as well.
